The Adventuring Set has much more challenging vocabulary than any of the other sets. The sentence structure is still simple, but the concepts are rich. This set will challenge a child and interest an older ESL student. The artist’s note at the end of each book provide an important context and add a richness to each story, creating many jumping off points for further discovery!
Case Jernigan (Click for Video) was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. His images reflect his travels; his enduring love of Rome, the energy of New York, and the memories of his seaside hometown. He appreciates a well told story, and his paintings and drawings draw influence from dreams, memories, visits to the Bronx Zoo, maps and medieval manuscripts, and Renaissance drawings.
